IMG Junior Golf Tour tees off at Galloping Hill Golf Club

Ryan Davis earns win in Boys 15-18 division; Yeji Shin wins Girls 15-18 division; Jack Wall gets third Tour win in Boys 11-14 division

Bradenton, Fla. (April 30, 2014) - Seventy-five players from four states hit the links as the IMG Junior Golf Tour got back underway in the Northeast at Galloping Hill Golf Club in Kenilworth, N.J., Apr. 26-27. In the Boys 15-18 division, Ryan Davis of Berkeley Heights, N.J. kicked things off with an opening round of 70 (-1), the only sub-par round of the event. Davis’ fast start and consistent play allowed him to maintain the lead and finish with a four-over 146 in his first-ever Tour event, three strokes ahead of Evan Quinn of Morristown, N.J.

“I played really well Saturday, and my driving was key,” said Davis of the win. “Sunday was a bit more of a struggle, but I fought through it.”

In the Girls 15-18 division, Yeji Shin of Norwood, N.J. edged out Christina Parsells of Bernardsville, N.J. by a single stroke. Shin finished with solid rounds of 72, 79 to secure the win in her first-career Tour appearance.

Meanwhile, in the Boys 11-14 division, Jack Wall of Brielle, N.J. won his third event of the season (High Bridge Hills, Savannah Harbor) with scores of 79-74.

Galloping Hill is a Kemper Sports managed facility, and the event was ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard and Golfweek Junior Rankings. AJGA Performanced Based Entry was awarded to top finishers in the Boys and Girls 15-18 divisions.

The IMG Junior Golf Tour returns to Florida to close out the regular season at Marriott Grande Pines in Orlando, May 3-4, followed by the 2014 Tour Championship at Black Diamond Ranch - Quarry Course, May 17-18.
