ORLANDO, Fla.  – The PNC Father/Son Challenge in collaboration with the IMG Junior Golf Tour announced the PNC Father/Son Junior Challenge, an extension of the annual PGA TOUR Challenge event. The Junior Challenge will be held Father’s Day weekend, June 16-18, at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club ®, Orlando, Grande Lakes– site of the PNC Father/Son Challenge.

“We look forward to providing a unique playing opportunity to junior golfers and their families and hope it grows our platform to inspire the next generation of golf heroes,” said PNC Father/Son Challenge Tournament Director Teo Sodeman.

The junior event will be open to competitive juniors ages 11-18 and their parents and is open to any combination of junior and parent. The event’s format will consist of a nationally-ranked junior event and parent/junior team challenge in four-ball stroke play format, similar to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Parent net scores will count and juniors will play without a handicap. The junior competition portion of the event will be nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard and will feature age divisions of boys and girls 11-14 years old and 15-18 years old.

The field will be developed based on open registration and will be limited to 50 teams. Each team entry for the event will receive the following: gift package from IMG Junior Golf Tour sponsors Under Armour and Gatorade; complimentary welcome reception and pairings party Friday, June 16 at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club; two complimentary one-day passes to the 2017 PNC Father/Son Challenge.

Winners in each age division will earn an exclusive invitation for a VIP Experience at the 2017 PNC Father/Son Challenge including access to the Champions Club hospitality and accommodations at Grande Lakes Orlando.
