19 December, 2012

New Jersey’s Heron Glen Golf Club and High Bridge Hills Golf Club will host Tour’s two new spring eventsThe IMG Junior Golf Tour expanded for the first time into the Northeast with two events this past fall, and is set to return to the region for two more events in the spring. The first of the two events will be at the Heron Glen Golf Club in Ringoes, N.J., April 6-7, followed by High Bridge Hills Golf Club in High Bridge, N.J., April 27-28.

“This fall was just the beginning, and we see tremendous potential for the Tour’s continued expansion into the Northeast,” said Andrew Parr, IMG Junior Golf Tour Tournament Director. “In our initial talks with parents and players, the message was clear that the region wanted more high quality, national-level playing opportunities with sensible membership and entry fees.”

The IMG Junior Golf Tour’s first stop at Heron Glen for the Northeast Kickoff in October attracted players from four U.S. states and Germany. Heron Glen is a Kemper Sports-managed facility that has been recognized by Golf Magazine as one of the top-20 courses to play in the state of New Jersey. High Bridge Hills Golf Club, managed by Billy Casper Golf, features natural elevation changes and is one of the most popular courses in the region. Each course is conveniently located between the New York and Philadelphia metro areas

Both events are recognized by the Golfweek/Sagarin Junior Rankings, and AJGA Performance Based Entry is available to top finishers, based on the minimum field criteria of 40 boys and 12 girls in the 15-18 division. Players registering for one or both Northeast events in April will be entered into a drawing to win two Trophy Club tickets to the final round of the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pa., June 13-16. The winner of the U.S. Open ticket promotion for the fall was Ryan Warner of Beacon Falls, Conn.

In addition to tournament tee gifts, players registering for one or both of the spring Northeast events by January 15 will receive a complimentary Under Armour Performance Polo, and will be entered twice into the U.S. Open ticket drawing for each tournament registration. Players can also receive $25 off tournament registration by referring a friend to enter either of the events.
