IMG Junior Golf Tour heads north for the Northeast Kickoff, Oct. 13-14
Local talent shines at IMG Junior Golf Tour's first-ever Northeast event
Players from four U.S. states and Germany met on the links of Heron Glen Golf Course in Ringoes, N.J. for the IMG Junior Golf Tour’s Northeast Kickoff. It marked the IMG Junior Golf Tour’s first-ever event in the northeast region. Temperatures in the high-20s Saturday morning forced a two hour frost delay, which provided chilly playing conditions throughout the weekend. However, things heated up with the Boys 15-18 division when Kenneth Yanga of Livingston, N.J. eked out a win on Sunday by a single stroke, shooting a 77-79=156 (+12), to overtake Joe Gordon of Basking Ridge, N.J. (+13), who finished in second place.
