The IMG Junior Golf Tour was developed to fill a key niche in junior golf, the IMG Junior Golf Tour provides an elite setting for junior golfers to compete and gain exposure to college golf, professional golf, national junior rankings and athletic excellence.
Held in Florida every December, and open to boys and girls ages 11-18, the the IMG Academy Junior World Florida Challengeis a qualification and invitation only event featuring an international field of over 200 players.News
Visit Sarasota County to sponsor IMG Junior Golf Tour Northeast series of events in 2014-15
Visit Sarasota County will also serve as an official sponsor for the IMG Academy Junior World Match Play Championships
Visit Sarasota County, the official tourism marketing entity and primary provider of visitor information for Sarasota County, Fla., will sponsor three fall and three spring IMG Junior Golf Tour events in the Northeast U.S. during the 2014-15 season. The first event will be the Northeast Kickoff presented by Visit Sarasota County, to be held at Flanders Valley Golf Club in Flanders, N.J., Sept. 27-28.
The sponsorship will also feature the creation of the Visit Sarasota County Northeast Points List to determine the 2014-15 Northeast Region Players of the Year in each age division (Boys and Girls 11-14, 15-18). All players finishing in the top 10 at each Northeast series event in each age division will earn points toward Player of the Year honors. Visit Sarasota will also offer IMG Junior Golf Tour members participating in any of the Northeast events the chance to enter a sweepstakes to win a golf trip to Sarasota, Fla.
The remaining fall events sponsored by Visit Sarasota County include Berkshire Valley Golf Club in Jefferson Township, N.J., Oct. 11-12, and Stockton Seaview Resort in Galloway, N.J. Visit Sarasota will also sponsor two spring events, leading into the Northeast Tour Championship presented by Visit Sarasota County, to be held May 10-11, 2015.
Visit Sarasota County will serve as an official sponsor for the IMG Academy Junior World Match Play Championships at The Resort at Longboat Key Country Club in Sarasota, Fla., Dec. 11-16 later this year. The inaugural Match Play event, in conjunction with the IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships next summer in San Diego, Calif., is expected to attract hundreds of the top players from around the world to the Sarasota/Bradenton area.
